Tramadol Hydrochloride And Paracetamol

will it be ok to take 2 x 500mg paracetamol and then 2.5hrs later take 1 tramadol hydrochloride 50mg ?

Hi charlie,

From what I could gather, the maximum amount of paracetamol (acetaminophen) for adults is 1 gram (1000 mg) per dose - up to 4000 mg daily. So with that in mind, it is possible to take two 500mg tabs at once. Safety is another concern though with regards to liver damage, if you plan on taking such a high dosage for any prolonged period of time.

But as far as drug interactions go, there shouldn't be any problem taking Tramadol shortly thereafter.
According to the MayoClinic, there is actually a Tramadol + Acetaminophen combination that is available for pain relief. When used together, the combination is said to provide better pain relief than either medicine used alone. And in some cases, you may even get relief with lower doses of each medication. So that's something to consider as well.
