gave my dad toprin in ER for fibrillation. Help? What is it?

Did you mean Toprol?

If so, it contains the active ingredient Metoprolol, which is used to treat various cardiac conditions, as well as high blood pressure. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including increased urination, hypotension, increased urination, headache, and nausea.

Has he been prescribed any other medications? Was this his first instance of afib?

Can you double check the name of the medication they gave him and post back? Thank you!
