My doctor put me on it for weight loss. Is this used for this.......

Not sure if it used specifically for weight loss. I do take this medication for seizures and have lost about 20 pounds. I do believe i am starting to gain my weight back so it may only be a temporary thing.
You should look into it. If anyone knows, fill me in.

I was put on it for weight loss and my eyes began twitching really bad and it affected my vision so I stop taking it. It really helped with the weight loss though but it was not worth it to continue the drug.

my md put me on it for back pain and to prevent migraines--he also noticed I 'd gained weight and told me with some people, they can lose up to 5% of their body weight. I love it , it really did work and the weight came back when I stopped taking it. I receive these results on a 400 mg dose.

I was told that this drug caused weight loss in quite a few patients, but I haven't experienced anything like that at all.

I was on Phentermine for weight loss and it worked for the first few months. It's designed for short term use. Basically, if you don't lose 8% of your body weight in 12 months then you go off it because you are either not taking to it or not putting effort into curbing your eating habits and that stuff works in the beginning - no cravings! Then, Contrave and Qysemia came out - the new diet meds. Well, Qysemia was way too expensive for me so I figured out the two main ingredients were PHentermine and Topomax together, so doc put me on it too. It worked. Back in the day also, I wanted Contrave but couldn't afford that either and that is basically the combo of two psych meds naltrexone and wellbutrin. My friend was on that and it worked but made her vomit a few times.
