You really need to see a dentist to have the underlying issue that has caused the infection remedied.
This is an antibiotic, so it can help with an infection, but as long as the issue that's caused isn't fixed, it will keep returning, or worsening.
The U.S. FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
When is the last time you saw a dentist?
