Took Too Many Prednisone Pills

I have a rx for Prednisone 20mg to take e 1 tablet daily with a quantity of 5 pills. I took 3 tablets in a 24 hour period, leaving me 2 pills to take. This is to get me ready for cancer surgery on my mouth to make sure my lungs are clear. What should I do? Do I take 1 pill for the next 2 days? or skip some days and try and follow the 5-day regiment? I feel like a fool. Thank you for your help.

Jody, please check with your prescribing doctor, as they may need to prescribe a couple more pills for you to take, before your surgery, so you get the full five days of dosing.

Prednisone may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, acne, weight changes, insomnia, and mood changes.
