My mom was in the hospital for 2 weeks. diagnosis aphib and broncitis. She has been out of the hospital for 3 weeks. The physical therapist has quit coming because he said she does great. There is a home health nurse that comes twice a week. We have been taking her out to her great grandsons football games on saturdays and they are long days. She gets up in the morning has 1 cup decaffe coffee, toast with peanut butter while reading her newspaper then goes back to bed and would sleep all day if someone didnt wake her. I am concerned that the meds she is taking are causing this tiredness all the time. She used to take 30 minute walks twice a day and I realize she was in the hospital but she doesnt seem to be trying. She is on oxygen - but we have been trying to ween her off it per the instructions of the Physical Therapist.

Hello, JoLynne! How is your mom doing?

What medications is she on?

If you can post back with a list of them, I'll gladly research them for you to see if I can help you figure out what's causing her to be so tired.

How much oxygen is she on and what method are you using to wean her off?

Has the bronchitis cleared up, yet?

Was this helpful? 0
