Tincture Of Iodine

our baby has small quantity of pus in her baby's cap. i put two drops of tincture of iodine in warm water and wash her hair with the water. will this be enough to treat her head or are there other options to treat it. she was also give ceritizine drops. is tincture of iodine safe for babies. she is 6 months old.

Please do not use anything on your infant that her pediatrician has not instructed you to use, for non medical issues, you should only use products that are designed, and approved for use on infants.

If your child has an infection, which is what usually causes pus, that is caused by bacteria, and will normally require an antibiotic to eradicate. Your pediatrician can prescribed an appropriate one that is safe to give to, or use on, and infant.

Iodine can be toxic, if used improperly, or ingested.
