A friend has taken 20 pills of thyronorm 25mcg out of hysteria.. What might be the repercussions? Please reply urgently.

And overdose of any medication is dangerous and risks death, organ damage and other serious health repercussions.

High doses of the Levothyroxine in this creates the risk of seizures, strokes, heart palpitations and extremely high blood pressure.

Even if she showed no ill effects, at the time she took them, she needs to see a doctor, because she could have done other damage to her body.

Hi,

I am over weight (69 Kgs) for my height 4.9 '', Usually i have irregular periods like light bleeding. but after my marriage (March 28th 2014) it was coming regularly in 29 days cycle till December 2014. But for the past 2 months i didn't have periods at all and not pregnant also, Weight is increasing drastically. Feeling tired often,feeling like something else. On Jan 31,2015 went to hospital and done ultrasound scan. but not pregnant. then i am asked for blood & U/A. The results are as follows:

1. Haemoglobin - 10Grms/dl
2. Blood Sugar(R) - 88mg/dl
3. Urine culture Organism Grown - No Growth
4. Thyroid stimulating Hormone (TSH) - 11.66 IU/ml

Then doctor told me that i have thyroid disorder and to take Thyronorm 100 mcg tablets - 1 per day for 100 days with everymorning empty stomach & Fol 123 - 1 per day in night.

I want to conceive a baby madly. Kindly clarify me with the reports and doctor is saying that i will conceive only if my thyroid levels become normal.

Waiting for your answer.Kindly explain me whats happening in my body? why periods not coming for 2 months.

I have mistakenly taken 125 mcg of thyronorm on a daily basis for about 20 days .My doctor had prescribed me 25 mcg of thyronorm .how will this affect me when i am 7 months pregnant currently.

I am currently taking thyronorm 25mcg tablet daily morning before breakfast. Can I take two tablet per day. I am overweight and I want to reduce weight. Thyronorm increases metabolism so I thought of doing this. Any side effects?

there would not be long term side effects. The immediate effects could be that it increase heart rate and increases body temperature. Please make sure that she does not overdose again.

Hi, all my wife is suffering from a elbow pain where the ulnar nerve from the elbow to the little finger is giving a heavy pain past 6 months, I tried with many diagnosis like blood test, ultra sound scan, Biopsy and nerve conduction study where we found the nerve in the hand is swollen some mm. after many medications there is no better results. She is consuming 175 mg thyronorm daily will this be an effect its my doubt

please advice

I have severe hypothyroidism and pcod. Although doctors told me i wouldn't conceive unless i took fertility treatment conceived naturally after 3 yrs n was 20 kgs overweight.take thyroid medication, don't stress n try to eat healthy.weight loss is hard before n after pregnancy but don't lose hope

Mistakenly I have taken 4 tabs of Thyronorm 50 mcg but after two minutes I washed my mouth out and much of what was on my tongue was washed away. It is nighttime in India and I have no emergency service or doctor around. What must I do?

I also have a thyroid condition and this is correct that the thyroid level should be normal before u try to conceive. I have a baby now. So dont worry, first you maintain your thyroid level; then you only need to plan for the baby as a thyroid patient can also conceive normally... I'd contact an andocronologist for appropriate medication.

1. My daughter is 23 years old. Since July '17 she's been on homeopathic medication along with 100 mcg thyronorm. She wants to go abroad for her MS but we are unable to send her abroad. Now she stopped taking her medicine and is threatening us with suicide attempts. She said that 3 weeks back she consumed 3 bottles of thyronorm of 125 mcg at a time. I told her that we will go to the hospital with her but she ignores us and has begun writing suicide notes, and we could see them while sweeping the house.

2. She is overweight at 95 kgs. I asked my daughter if we should meet with a doctor, yet she is still ignoring us.

3. What to do? Who should we consult?

What risks are associated with an overdose of thyronorm tablets (like from 62.5 mcg to 100 mcg a day)? I'm concerned because there are no professional endocrinologists in our town and I cannot afford to go to a city for checkups.

One of our patient's 16 yr old girl swallowed several tablets of thyronorm 50mcg and got severe itching and burning sensations all over her body. She is not feeling comfortable at all, so I advised her to go to a higher health care center for the treatment and management. Is this a known side effect of thyronorm overdose?
