Thyronorm And Pregnancy

Hi,
I am 8 weeks pregnant. My TSH thyroid level has come 308.2 in blood test during 6th week which is very high as compared to normal levels. I was not having any symptoms before conceiving so never consulted doctor. we got to know about TSH level only during blood test when I got pregnant..and it came 308.2, then we retested it again on empty stomach but it came 332..Doctor was wondering how i conceived at such high level of TSH. We have then consulted another physician. Doctor has prescribed 100 mcg thyronorm tablets (which I am taking everday on empty stomach) and suggested for retest after 1 month. I am really scared, can high level of TSH be a risk to pregnancy? Can it affect my baby or can it be controlled safely?
Can you please advise and share your opinions?

Hello team...I'm 2 n half month pregnant n even my thyroid is very high in my blood test.. My gynaecologist suggested to take thyronorm 100mcg daily on empty stomach ? I want to ask experts that after how long should I check my thyroid again? N is it really safe to take this much heavy dose during first trimester?

Pooja

Thyronorm will have no impact on baby..but medicine should be taken empty stomach without skipping everyday..if thyroid is very high .. consult your gynecologist..
My wife is 3 months pregnant and she is taking the 50 mcg thyronorm tablets. Will it have any effect on the baby?
Also, how should she take the medicine (after food or before food on an empty stomach)? Please reply.
Hello,
Thank you so much for the reply :) Your Response gave me positive feeling and relief.
I will go for all the tests (antibodies T3, T4 and TSH) suggested by doctor after completing taking thyronorm 100 mg for 1 month.
Yes, I am facing nausea, headache sometimes, fatigue and pain in legs, mood swings also but these are not severe. I am feeling increase in appetite also.
Yes, it can be controlled safely, you should follow your doctor's instructions, it is very rare for a woman with your condition to be able to become pregnant, according to NIH studies. Usually, it does not happen, until her TSH is brought under control, so congratulations! They also warn that this medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, mood swings, and hair loss.
How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
