Testosterone And Dangers???

my doctor is wanting me to start T-therapy because of low T. I am 54 yrs old and am worried because of the recent info and commercials of men having heart attacks or strokes while using testosterone. all the studies are inconclusive but I thought if I could get some feedback from someone or a few people who have been on T therapy for a period of time and have conclusive results it might help me. right now my cholesterol is bad and the doctor says the Testosterone will help get that back to good levels, but the info out there warns that Testosterone can cause cholesterol problems as well as plaque in the arteries.??????? HELLLLPPPPP what is the safest for me????????

I understand your concerns, but to be completely honest, there are risks associated with all medications, it's just what happens when we try to add something to our bodies to try to correct a problematic issue.

What you need to do is evaluate your options and decide what's best for you. Do you feel that raising your T levels is worth those possible risks?

Has it been causing you any problematic symptoms?

You could also ask your doctor to check your cholesterol and plaque levels, that way you can make an even more informed decision, if they are already high, it might not be worth the risk. But if they are low or normal, then you may think differently.

Do you take any other medications? Do you have any other medical conditions?
