My dogs eye became infected & healed but when the next day the other eye showed the same symptoms only worse I put terramicina in his eye to clear it up only to find the next day the eye had clouded over bluish grey! The eye still has small amounts of grennish yellow discharge & seems sore to dog. What happened I can't afford a vet until pay day

Hi Jay,

Sorry to hear about what happened to your dog. From what I've been reading online, medications like Amoxicillin, Clavamox, Otomax, Penicillin, and Tetracycline are all touted as being safe for dogs… but ideally, a vet should be consulted in order to determine what a safe dose would be.

Have you also tried researching any holistic or plant-based antibiotics that are safe and readily available at a natural grocery or health food store?

That's probably the area I'd check next if I was on a tighter budget and couldn't wait for a vet. I actually find some of the workers at these places to be quite knowledgeable with a lot of herbal supplements as well. And as a last resort I'd even consider talking to a local pharmacist who may have additional information to offer on OTC meds that might help in the meantime.

I hope this helps and wish your dog a quick recovery!
