How long does terramicina take effect on a stye???

Hi mike,

From what I've read, this medication can be used for eye infections. However, I do believe there is a separate US brand of Terramycin "eye ointment" that is specifically geared towards these types of infections. As to how long it works, Terramycin has an estimated half life of 6 to 8 hours; after which, it's effects can begin to dwindle.

There are also a couple of other alternative treatment options for stye's that are thought to work just as well or better.

One simple approach that is suggested, is to take a clean wash cloth and soak it in vinegar or water as hot as you can stand. Then press the wash cloth against the stye, holding it there until it cools. Some people recommend doing this several times daily to help draw out the infection.
