I am in the military and just got a urine test back positive for temazepam. I have never heard of the drug before and they are trying to get me into trouble for it. I haven't been taking ANY prescription drugs for the past year. How is this possible?

This just happened to me as well, I am rx'ed xanax 1mg 3x daily and now my doctor is performing drugs tests now and this last drug test I came out postive for restoril ( temazepam) I have now idea what this medication is for. My doctor took away my xanax and I have a long history of PTSD, I'm very timid and feeling anxious now. I live in south Texas what is ya'lls imput on my situation?

I just found this out yesterday as well and have never heard of this drug and never take any prescription medicine. Those of you who have encountered this in the military before, what was the outcome of your case? I am extremely worried!! But it has to be a mistake!

I just tested positive for Restoril, I had no clue what it was until a nurse told me. I've talked to my pharmacist as well. How can this be in my system when I took nothing like it? I just don't understand. I feel stupid.

Same thing happened to me. Army. Please I know it's been a long time since you posted I pray you get this. I need to know what happened. Before after during etc. I have never ever heard of this drug ever. I was shocked. Need help asap. They are going to kick me out!

I am in the same boat, I take xanax and was given Ativan at a recent hospital visit, wondering if this is coming up as the temazepam? I am also in south Texas.

From what I have learned so far yes, Ativan can cause a false positive. But for me I have taken NOTHING but some otc stuff. Like Tylenol and fish oils etc. Btw from az. I just don't get it. How long ago was this for you?

Hey guys I know it's been a while for most since this has happened and I have searched for answers everywhere! This forum is the place where I have encountered anyone in the same boat as myself. It's just so damn strange. Can anyone please post updates with the research or where they stand with the military etc.. Thank you. Just to reiterate I have taken no medication other than OTC stuff. Does any body happen to know the actual quantity of the restoril found in there sample. Sharing this info could help me in my research believe it or not., I have done some extensive research, far and wide. Please get back to me possibly share contact info to help each other out and what not. Again thanks for hearing me out.

Hey bro im in the same boat. It confused the s*** out of me and I know that in the military (especially the Marines) if you pop they immediately lose there s***. I found the connection. If you are on depression meds that are (SSRI)'s like Prozac etc., they commonly create false positives for benzodiazepines. Guess what class of drugs temazepam belongs to. Yep benzos.

Just happened to me as well. I am prescribed xanax & methadone but have never heard of Restoril until my counselor just told me I tested positive. I lost my "take home" privileges over this and am extremely confused and upset.

Absolutely not. If this shows up it was the med itself unlike morphine which can break down from codeine, not Temazepam. Had some in my urine and am baffled.

No, I see my doctor again tomorrow. Asking for another urine test. I agree when they say this is lab error. I did chat with nurse and she agreed.

I have tested positive for temazepam 3 months in a row. I dont take this medication. I take Xanax but not temazepam. How is this happening? Does anyone know of anything that would cause a false positive? I only take my own meds. I don't want to lose my dr and WHO WOULD believe me. I can't stand sleeping pills.
