Telma 20 Lowering My Bp

I am 78 yrs old. Dr prescribed Telma 40 but by taking Telma 40 my bp drops down therefore i reduced to Telma 20. Now i am maintaining bp as 125/62-65 etc. In case i do not take medicine it increases to 140/90 approximately. Should I ask my dr to change the medicine or stop taking this medicine? Please advise me.

You should not change your dosage, or stop taking it, without your doctor's approval. There is no actual cure for high blood pressure, it can only be controlled.

The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

How low was it falling?
