Taking Morphine

I take 30mg of zormorph morphine twice three times daily and it keeps me awake all night I never sleep I can't take other med as allergic to codiene iburofen voltrol and many more I have to take it cos I have really bad sciatica and back problems why does it keep me awake and does this happen to anyone else

Hello, Tammy5583! How are you? I'm very sorry about the insomnia problem.

Narcotics can cause that as a side effect in some people that take it.

Have you tried Oxycodone, if it's available there? It might be a better choice.

You should also make sure to talk to your doctor about the problem, they may be able to prescribe something to counteract that.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
