Systolic And Mood Changes
UpdatedMy husband began taking 5mg of systolic for high blood pressure about3 weeks ago. I have noticed his mood change in a negative way. He seems withdrawn and I am concerned. Not sure if it is the medicine. Any opinions on the possibility of this being the cause?

Hello, Marie! How are you?
Did you mean Bysolic?
The FDA classifies it as a beta blocker and they don't work well for some people. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.
You may want to inform his doctor, as this might not be the right medication for him to take and he may need to try something else.
