I was on a high dose of Symbicort for about 2 weeks then lost my voice. I have just quit taking the symbicort. I MUST have my voice for work- How long does it take to get Symbicort out of the system - thank you

Are you certain the voice loss is related to the Symbicort? Has your doctor confirmed this?

This is not a commonly reported
side effect.

However, if it was caused by the medication, most of them can take a month or so to process out of your body.

Symbicort affected my voice as well. It took about 2 months before it completely returned. (I continued using it during that time.)

I've been on Symbicort for 9 days and lost my voice after the the 5th day. It's coming back now, and I also continued the use of the Symbicort since it provided so much relief--the first good nights sleep I'd had in MONTHS>

Im quiting symbicort myself due to the loss of my hair... I have patches coming out of my head!!! very upset about it because it is not stated as a side effect and millions of people complain about hair loss and symbicort....

You are kidding me?! I have soo bad side effects from that symbicort. I feel so depressed that i literally want to end my life.

Hoarseness from Symbicort is probably more likely than is reported. Astra Zeneca reports a number of "rare" side effects...check it out. Both me and my mother became hoarse, back aches, muscle spasms, etc. almost immediately after beginning to take Symbicort. I never associated all of the illnesses I was suddenly suffering from until I woke up one morning and I had severe eye pain in my socket. It was so odd I googled and sure enough it's a known side effect, according to AS, and is frequently reported on the internet. If you're getting sick and your doctors can't figure out why research.

I have also lost my voice since taking Symbicort. It has been a month so far and I still do not have my voice back. I stopped using the inhaler 2 weeks ago.

I too had voice problems while on Symbicort and had to stop public speaking. Two days off it, however, and my voice is great!

Simbicort has caused me to practically lose my voice and I sing. It's embarrassing to talk and difficult to conduct business. Even worse are the Charlie horses in both legs. Every two hrs at night, leaving calves of legs in pain.

I know very late response but your responses helped.
So its not just me that feels depressed, and wants to end life. I thought I had misread other reviews but it keeps coming up. I too have been in a depressed state sonce I started taking symbacort. It is a steroid, why didnt I figure it out before!!! : ( Any of you with severe asthma attacks , know prednisone!!!!!! Which is a steroid also, and also causes crazy behaivoir, although prescription is short term.

Im stopping symbacort, going crazy plus gained 25lbs, that wont budge.

How long after stopping the treatment did you notice the side effects fading away? I've stopped using the inhaler for a couple of days now. I'd been feeling hungry all the time, having strong cravings, feeling bloated, jittery, got an UTI infection and oral thrush, all within 2 weeks after starting my Symbicort treatment, so I decided to stop taking it. However, all of those nasty side effects are still there.

I have been getting depressed too. I didnt think about my symbicort i have gained weight and leg cramps. My dr said it wasnt my inhaler. He hasnt heard of this before. All the reviews i have read say different. I go see him tomorrow and am done with symbicort. This review helped me so much

I used symbicort for 2 weeks and now I can't walk. my legs and feet swelled and felt like they were on fire then after that stopped pins and needles feelings replaced that within two weeks mey legs and feet felt numb heavy and dead. my right leg recovered fully aftrer stopping symbicort 1 week thr left leg and foot are worse and swollen.I cant move my toes and have fallen 4 times in 2 weeks. I wonder how much longer until i can use my left leg and the swelling goes down? The feelings of heaviness and numbness are maddening.

All of the above and more is true. Had all the symptoms including posterior rash and sores. Kept my hair though. Wait until you have open sores break out in mouth. I sould have known better than to ignore listed symptoms and now finding out there are things not even in the warning label. I would rather live with COPD untreated than take this poison again.

The severe case of Thrush has subsided but still there in my mouth. The 'ring of fire' around my posterior has nearly gone away but still flares up. The company will deny any side effects such as sores in the mouth until the chickens come home. This like most other pharmaceuticals is poison. My advice is to stay away from it because some of these side effects could kill you. If you have a weakened immune system, you will notice side effects immediately as your liver will begin to shut down and the toxins will get released inside your body. It will overwhelm your body's ability to fight off infections and disease. If you wear dentures, remove them and begin the mouth treatment immediately. The Symbicort has seriously off-balanced your body's PH.

I've been on Symbicort for 3 months. From day one, I've had migraines. As time went on, I've had leg cramps, gas, heartburn, bad itching, unusual fatigue, inability to concentrate, and hair loss. Stopped taking four days ago, and the headache and itching are subsiding. All of these symptoms are mentioned by patients on various forums, but my doctor said she suspects hypothyroidism! Makes me have little confidence in doctors, I'll tell you.
