Synasma Syrup For Cough

My doctor prescribed synasma syrup for cough to my 2years old kid. but the product description shows its in anti asthmatic. dr told us to give it if cough continues. please help me either to continue the medication or consult other doctor ?

should synasma be given with viscodyne when having cough along with mild asthma

Many medications have multiple uses and Synasma is just another one of them. It contains the active ingredient Doxofylline, which is commonly used to treat asthma, but is also very effective as an antitussive to treat coughing.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness and dry mouth.
