Synalgos-dc356.4/30/16

I have much pain due to degenerative joint disease of the spine and lower back spasms. Synalgous enable me to tolerate the reduced pain, while hydrocodone is like taking water, Is there an available source? I cannot locate it here in Texas within a 165 mile radious, am told they cannot obtain it from a wholesaler.. Help. Pat Dunn

Patsy..You have one option, google compounding pharmacies and you will find that your pharmacy can compound the medication for you. Most Walgreens do compounding as do pharmacies that specialize in dental work. It will cost you more, but I started taking the synalgos DC in 1974, and from what I can see it just looks like the second doctors started using vicodin, synalgos DC dissapeared which is a shame because I agree that vicodin is useless, and dangerous. I became addicted to it, and doing research found out that hydrocodone is one of the most abused narcotics. I useually don't talk about this, but being an opiate addict is hard work, and instead of using my doctor and harming his practice, I jumped straight to heroin. I got clean, and after many years I got a prescription for 10 vicodin for dental surgery. IMO vicodin feels just like heroin without the rush. Within a few months I relapased, I was taking 40 vicodin a day thanks to online pharmacies. I am glad they are mostly gone now, but I will be on methadone maintenance for the rest of my life because I can't or won't go through that living nightmare of heroin addiction. I am too old and not in really good health..I can tell you that I am having dental surgery full extraction+ dentures and I will not use vicodin, I am going to ask my dentist to write me a compounded prescription for dihydrocodeine which is snalgos DC..If your wondering why I need pain medication because I am on methadone, it is because I am on maintenance so methadone doesn't work as a pain medication for me, it takes away the cravings for other narcotics and makes me feel normal,,,Sorry for the rant, but I feel very strongly about this issue, vicodin needs to be class 2 and they need to bring back synalgos DC..Its all about dollars here in the US, in fact almost every other country including Canada uses dihydrocodeine instead of vicodin...
