(Newest replies first)

I have been taking ms contin 15 mg twice a day for a few months and raking it about 4 or 5 times a day the last 4 days since i ran out of my norco.my pain dr switched me to opana er 10mg every 12 hours and By some miracle i got it filled today i just wondered if i will have withdrawal from the ms contin even though im still taking the norco and opana. I know before my dr told me if i was still taking opiates i would not get any withdrawals but i ran out kf norco before and had only a little ms contin and had a horrible headache and a little stomach ache so i am sure that is not true i am just afraid as i will be travelling in the next 2 days to visit sick relative.

Re: Cactus Arizona (# 5)
Why not get on the generic version of Opana Cactus? I'm on Opana generic which is Oxymorphone ER 3x a day. It's okay I guess. I like Oxycontin better but copay was too high.
My understanding is only Opana is removed but the generic is still available. I'm sitll on it. Good luck.
No you are on a stronger drug now. I had to go from Opana ER 15mg twice a day to 30 mg MS Contin twice a day. They stopped the Opana due to the abusers out there so I'm in more pain and feel sick with this MS Contin. My quality of life is no good anymore and it's all because of drug seekers using the Opana for recreational purposes. In my case my pain was managed with the Opana but I cannot be prescribed it anymore. My doctor can't give it anymore to anyone. I have so many problems that it saddens me that I have to suffer for what others do. You will be fine dear. No worries. You won't go through withdrawals. God bless
I've been taking Norco for over a yr. My last dosage being 10/325 every 4 hrs. The pain would come back again at 3 hrs. My P M doc has now changed me to ms contin 15 mg every 12 hrs. I haven't taken yet because of all the warnings and how vague my doc was with instructions I'm afraid. Mean while I've run out out my Norco and in quite a bit of pain. Should I be concerned or just over thinking. Also I'm on atenolol 50 mg 1x daily will these 2 drugs interact? Of course it's the weekend so I can't call the clinic.
No thanks i appreciate the responses. So far so good much better pain relief too.
You should be fine and should suffer no withdrawal as you are still taking an Opioid which that is what Opana is I believe. You shouldn't notice anything, but a little better than you have been.
No, you shouldn't suffer withdrawals with this dosage, because your doctor has actually raised it. You only need 5mgs of Opana to equal each 15mgs of Morphine, so by prescribing 10mgs of it, your doctor has essentially doubled your dosage.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
