Switch From Cipro To Levo
(Newest replies first)

I am out of the country and cannot see my regular doctor. Unfortunately, I developed a bad case of bronchitis that turned into phlemonia... doctor here prescribed me with cipro-- however, after doing some reading I see that Levo is more effective against respiratory infections . What should I do? Can I switch from Cipro to Levo?

I've had this cough for 4 weeks now and sometimes it gets so severe that it makes my back hurt. Phlem is still present. I think I should have been on a different antibiotic?
Cipro is also a broad spectrum antibiotic that has been proven effect at treating various types of bacterial infections.
The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
