Switch From Kadian To Oramorph
UpdatedToday the doctor switched me from Kadian to Oramorph. I was taking 80 mg. of Kadian twice a day to Oramorph 60 mg twice a day. Should I expect the same relief I was getting on this lower dose. The change was due to the need to lower costs for my meds. Is there a difference between the beads and capsule form of kadian as the pill form of Oramorph? Thanks for any help.

They both contain Morphine, so yes, switching fro a higher dose to a lower one may not give you quite as much pain control.
They are both time releases formulations, so there is really no difference in that.
The side effects will also remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help you with?
