Swelling After Being Released From Hospital (Top voted first)
UpdatedI was released from the hospital (due to DVT) after 2 days. I am now home for the past 3 days and I still have swelling from foot to knee. Do you think if I iced it for swelling would that help? It is very uncomfortable to walk around the house.

After my last post I had a follow up with my pri. doctor who advised me to wear a compression stocking and continue with 2.5 Eliquis twice a day and take a Tylenol once a day. The swelling will take a while since I am 87 years old. My blood test reads normal.
Hi Dusty, I'm glad your labs were normal and followed up with your pcp. These things take some time to achieve complete relief. Compression garments and elevation will assist you greatly. I know how uncomfortable it is to get around with swelling like that. Best wishes.
