No, this is an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
Shingles, however, is caused by a virus, so it will not help to treat it. Has your doctor diagnosed it as shingles? Are you on any other medications?
