Hi Nikki,

Based on my research, the combination of sulfamethoxazole 800mg + trimethoprim 160mg can be used to treat urinary tract infections.

The usual adult dose for a urinary tract infection is: 1 tablet orally every 12 hours for 10 to 14 days. However I'd still recommend discussing this with your doctor first, in order to confirm whether or not these instructions are also appropriate for your individual needs.
