Sulfameth Trimethoprim 800 160 Uti

I have a horribke skin rash abd i am itching all over from this medixatiob i have only taken 3 i have discontinued the med. The were prescribed for a UTI two days ago. 6/28/16. Should i go to the ER..what will stop the itching..please help!

When I had an allergic reaction to this medication, my doctor put me on Benadryl and a steroid skin cream, which requires a prescription. If you're not having trouble breathing, the ER is likely not necessary, but you should consult your regular doctor to see what is appropriate for you to use.

As reported by the FDA a skin rash can be a normal side effect of most antibiotics, but when the itching is added, the is likely due to an allergic reaction, so it was smart to stop taking it, because such reactions only tend to get worse with repeated exposure.
