Sulfameth Trimeth Susp Grape Medicine

My child is 6. She has been taking sulfameth-trimeth for a few days now for a uti. However, she is complaining of a sore throat. Can I give her otc children's cough medicine while on this antibiotic?

Cough medicine really won't do much to help a sore throat and it's best not to give her anything, without her doctor's approval.

What infection is being treated?

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and non-allergic skin rash.
