Sudafed 12 Hour

I was informed from a co worker that I could not purchase another box of Sudafed 12 hour for another month. New state law. It is the only product that works for my sinus problems & I do take 2 @ a time. One just doesn't work. Is this true?

Hello, Stephanie! How are you?

What state are you in? I'll gladly research this for you, but I need to be able to narrow it down, a little.

Did you try asking your pharmacist?

The FDA classifies this medication as a decongestant and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, insomnia and dry mouth.

There is a certain limit on the amount you can purchase each month, so that might be what your coworker is talking about and they just misunderstood. That doesn't mean you can't buy more, because you can, unless you've already hit that purchase limit. The federal 30 day purchase limit is 9grams a month, which would be 9,000mgs. In most cases, to exceed these limits, you'd have to be taking over 125 pills a month.

How many do you take each month?
