Subutex Or Suboxone?
Updated1 Reply
Hello, Lucy! How are you?
The final decision would be up to you and your doctor, of course, however most often Subutex is preferred, since it contains Buprenorphine by itself and doesn't include the Naloxone that's in Suboxone. Generally, it's considered the less medications being processed through your liver to tax it, the better.
The FDA classifies this medication as being an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
