My father is 76 years old and had his first cerebral stroke two months ago. He has motor expressive aphasia characterized by difficulty speaking complete sentences and recalling recent events although they are not severe. He has been prescribed serlift 25 and taking it for the last 10 days. Since then he sleeps a lot and tends to be in a state of dizziness when awake. He has no depression history and has shown no signs of the same now. Please suggest how can he be more active as before.

My father also suffered a stroke in June of 2015. The physciatrist that saw my dad at the Rehabilitation Center prescribed him Sertraline 25mg then gradually increased the dose to 50 where it still remains. I recall my dad getting these dizzy spells that would last no more than 10-15 minutes the first couple of months. With time my father's brain and body adjusted to the Sertraline and it seems to be working well.
