I am experiencing extreme dizziness, nausea, sinustis and irritating coughing going over into ashma attacks. I have been taking Co-Protor for about 12 months now and the symptoms are getting so bad that I cannot function normally. Hardly a day goes by without sinusitis headaches and I most mornings wake up tired early in the morning because my head is so sore. I am dizzy on waking and have to gain balance when trying to get up. I am 53 yeasr old, healthy otherwise and reasonbly fit (though this is going backwards as I am too dizzy and nauseous).
I have had enough, how do I get off this medication?

Hello, Pete! How are you? I'm so sorry about how you're feeling.

One of the active ingredients in this medication is Hydrochlorothiazide, which helps remove excess fluid from the body to help lower blood pressure and it sounds like it may be cause you to become dehydrated, or to experience orthostatic hypotension, both of which can be common side effects of it, as reported by the FDA.

The cough is most likely due to the other active ingredient Telmisartan, it's frequently known to do that.

However, rather than simply stopping, which could be dangerous, if you have high blood pressure, you should consult your doctor about switching to a different medication.

Is there anything else I can help with?
