Stolen Prescriptions - What To Do

I sent a friend to pick up a partial; I was suppose to get 165 oxycodone 30 Mgs pills. When he came back there was only 24. He told me he felt sick but ran to the car and took off. I went to the police and they had me do a polygraph voice graph detector analysis were they asked me a million questions, but best of all I passed. If I was lying I could of been arrested. I was scared but I was telling the truth so they gave me the police report. I went to the doctors today with the police report and all paper work including the surveillance video and he told me there was nothing he could do. I had to suffer after being on these for 17 years. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO? I'm scared. Going cold turkey can kill u :(

Hello, Kimberly! How are you? I'm so sorry about what happened, that's terrible.

However, the only advice I can really give is for you to go to your nearest ER, if you find yourself with dangerous withdrawal symptoms. As listed by the FDA, they may include rebound pain, diarrhea, fever, chills and shakiness.

I wish there was something else I could say to help, but your options are limited, until it's time for your next doctor's appointment.

Does anyone else have any ideas that may help?

Do not go to ER, I was told same thing from my pain mgmt dr when mine got stole, not only did the ER dr redflag me as "drug seeking behavior" but he called my pain mgt dr and said that i said a bunch of stuff that i DID NOT say so my pain mgt dr refused to see me anymore, i have 2 bulging discs in my back & stay in pain. Ive went & done every diagnostic they have set me up to do, ive told em every medication i was given, but to no avail i cant get any help all bc i went to ER as told to do, i would like to know if theres anything i can do to both drs for doing what they did to me. How do u get punished & red flagged for doing what u were told to do?

No Opiate withdrawal CANNOT Kill YOU. It makes you have severe flu like symptoms but I was a detox nurse and no one dies. Go to a methadone clinic until you can fill your rx again. Or find a suboxone Dr. Why are you on such a huge dose?

That is such a horrific situation that occurred to you and sadly you have lots of company in that department. You can always file a complaint with your state's medical board. Some will tell you to sue for damages..can you seek legal recourse? Absolutely..... However, you will have a very difficult time finding an attorney to accept your case. These cases traditionally take many many years to resolve and are only truly feasible when one can provide a sizable retainer. Discovery is the second biggest obstacle because no physician likes to testify under oath against one of their colleagues even when they doubt their varsity. It's always an uphill struggle. I sincerely hope you were able to find a new physician more tailored to your needs.
