I took Chatix a few years ago and quit for almost two years. Then I started smoking again. I went back on Chantix - when I was ready for the second package my doctor was away but I had some left from the last time (they were expired by 6 months) so I have been taking them - it is day 39 and Im still smoking - I missed several doses during this time - forgot to take 1 pill here and there - I don't want to start all over - can I just start the new rx (the second pack - which I just had refilled) and pick a quit date within the week??? suggestions

What has your doctor advised? I really don't think you'd need to fully start over, but that is up to your physician.
As to still smoking, the medication can't do it all, you do have to try to stop, as well. Are you trying to cut down? Have you tried distracting yourself?
Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, depression and weight changes.
