Steroids For Crohns

What are the risk for young children taking steroids diagnosed Crohns? Is there only two types of medication treatment?

Hello, YaYah! How are you? How old is the child in question?

There are always risks associated with taking steroids, especially with long-term use. The FDA lists some of the possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness, irritability, acne, weight gain and bone loss.

Anti-inflammatories, corticosteroids, immune suppressants and antibiotics can all be used to treat it, depending on the symptoms presenting.

Which steroid has been prescribed?
