Starting Lo Loestin Fe After My Period
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I had my period a week ago on a Wednesday. The pack starts from Sunday Week 1 so should I wait till the next Sunday and start with the the second row of the pack (week2) or start with the first pill of the pack or skip the number of pills equivalent to the number of days that passed since the first day of my period? Thank you.

Thank you so much! You have answered all of my questions. Best, V
If your doctor approves, you can start them any day, just begin from the first day of the pack and proceed to take one tablet, each day. However, if you aren't on your period, you will need to use backup protection for the first 7 days to prevent pregnancy, which means no unprotected intercourse, until the 8th day, or later.
The days printed on the packet don't matter, just take one a day, starting from the beginning and expect your period to occur the last week of them.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Please remember that oral contraceptives only protect against pregnancy, they will not protect against STIs, including HIV.
