Hello, Carol! How are you?
Really, you should have taken them before you started the last week of the pack.
However, since you didn't, if you're already having your period, then you should most likely just start a new pack and dispose of them, unless your doctor instructs otherwise.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain and breakthrough bleeding.
