Stalopam Mini Plus

can i aged about75+ take stalopam mini plus twice a day as prescribed? i suffer from depression and other mental problems after death of my only one son. so i took alpazolum first then libotryp. now i am given stalopram. it appears to be better. shall i take just sleep 1mg if sleep does not come.
