We've started my daughter on sprintec 28 birth control pills 21 days ago to regulate her menstrual cycle. She started her period 13 days after she starrted taking the pill - this is the 11th day and she is still bleeding. Very heavy at times. I did not know she had to be on her period when she was to take her first pill. She was not. My question - should she stop taking them? Or what should we do??

Im scared, i got off the deppo shot 3 months ago, and now they want me to do the pill. im scared becsuse the deppo shot made me emotional, hair loss, and my period completely stopped, nd im sexually active. that scared me a bunch. my sister took sprintec and it gave her a respiratory infection. i dont know if i should take them...

My insurance doesn't pay for my birth control anymore so they prescribed sprintec I've missed three days of pills already and my period is on. What pill do I take the first one or Wednesday pill

I would talk to your doctor about it. She might need a different amount of mg for her, that or a different type of birth control.

My daughter just started taking sprintec. She wants to quit taking them because she is getting very emotional and crying a lot. She is also very upset about the possibilities of gaining weight. I know that some medications cause side effects that go away after your body gets used to them. I don't want her to quit taking them if these side effects will go away, but right now she says they make her hate herself. Does anyone have any input on this?

this is for brooke i just got sprintec today and im also irregular and the doctor told me to start on the day that i ended my period which i started on fridayand ended on sunday so imma do it this sunday

I have not had a normal menstrual cycle in years and I was told that birth control could regulate my cycle. I am now on Tri-sprintec, this is my first time taking birth control pills and I just wanted to know if the birth control will help my cycle to come on its own or will I have to take birth control forever to actually get a cycle?

So I started sprinten 15 days ago. And when my doctor gave it too me she told me NOT to wait for my next period, just too start it right when I get home. So I did I took the pill when I got home that friday, on that tuesday my period started now its been 11days and I still habe my period and its so heavy and bright red looking like its not stopping anytime soon either. Idk if this is normal. I have never gotten my period for this long, and its starting to worry me. So someone please help me out...

I'm about to start taking Sprintec 28. I haven't taken my first one yet, and I just started my period (On a Sunday) so should I take my first pill tonight? Or wait until next Sunday?

i just got prescribed Sprintec today, and i want to know when i can start taking it. my doctor told me to wait until i have my next period but my periods are always irregular. usually about three or four months apart. and i DON'T need to wait that long to start taking birth control pills. i'm not tryin'a have a baby. jusssayin'.

I just got the prescription from my doctor yesterday and filled it with out doing my regular research on birth control pills. While searching I realize there are so many unwanted side effects that I don't want. I'm so scared now to try the pills, because I've had the depo shot that made my hair fall out and I saw that was one of the side effects. So now I'm scared. I also noticed it can cause weight gain which I don't want either, especially since I've lost a lot of weight and I still want to lose 20 more pounds before Christmas. I've been on the generic brand of Yasmin(Orcella) and I had no side effects in the beginning then I started braking out. The side effects are bad and I'm scared out of my wits to take these pills. Bloating, cramps, acne and etc. That doesn't sound appealing at all especially for someone in her early 30s, but my doctor wants me on these pills to regulate my period. I'm going to try it and blog to let you guys know what happen.

My period started on june 28th, and I started taking sprintec on july 9, I had never been on the pill or any other type of birth control before, and on july 20th(about 11 days taking the pill) I had intercource without any backup form, do I have chances of getting pregnant?

I have been on Sprintec birth control for 12 days, in which my gyno told me to start it the day I start my period. Well I have been on my period for the whole 12 days, with absolutely no signs on stopping soon, its heavy very heavy!!! Should I call me doctor?

My daughter got her period today and we don't have the Sprintec RX filled yet...can she start taking the pills tomorrow??

OMG ! I started on Sprintec 28 day on a Sunday, not after my period. I got my period 3 weeks later & have been bleeding for 10 days now & no signs of it stopping. It is heavy & then medium & bright red. I have a usually late period but it never goes over 5 days of bleeding so this is very different for me. I am sort of scared, i don't know what could be happening. :/ I am calling the doctor ASAP tomorrow. I'll keep ya posted on what they tell me. Belen

hi i took the birth control shot 2 times, and the 3rd shot was on 5/30/2010, so i decided not to take it because i was gaining weight. now its has been 3 months and i haven't had my period yet. so i was wondering when will i start it?

i took tri sprintec 1 week after my last menstrual day. it falls on a monday. now after my 13 days of pills iam bleeding.this also happen to be the day that i should have my reg. menstruation. my 28th day. My period is 26-28 day cycle.I am confused whether i took the pill right or is this a breakthrough bleeding?I took this pills because Ive been spotting.

You do not have to be on your period to start Sprintec. You can however start it on your first day of your period or the first Sunday after your menstrual cycle.

The chance is slight, but it is there. You run the risk of pregnancy anytime you miss a pill.

You need to find some way to make sure you remember to take them in the future.
