i have a urinary tract infection an I have solametholazole antibiotic that is 2yrs an 4mnths old can I still use the medication

Did you mean Sulfamethoxazole?

Medications tend to degrade and lose efficacy over time and the problem with antibiotics that are expired is that it creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Thus, it would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription, if one is appropriate.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
