Hi Tom,

It's actually NOT recommended that you have any alcohol while you are taking Trimethoprim. Reason being is that the interaction can increase your risk of certain side effects such as rapid heartbeats, increased body temperature under the skin, nausea, and vomiting.

If you want avoid those risks, it may just be best to play it safe and wait it out through the duration your treatment.
