Smz Tmp Ds 800 160 Ingredients

I am an 80 year old female in good health with no medications until a recent bout with Urinary Tract Infection. I tolerated the pills for a few days week but the symptoms got so severe I stopped taking them. I took 15 out of 20. I was constipated for the first four days and had stomach discomfort with lots of gas and bloating. The last couple of days my legs hurt bad from my groin to my knees and the bloating and gas got worse even after regular bowel movements. I felt so bad I stayed in bed most of the day. I felt normal after getting off this medication. Will never take this one again. Now I wonder what ingredients could cause the most severe leg pain.

This is a generic for the antibiotic Bactrim, smz stands for Sulfamethoxazole, and TMP stands for Trimethoprim. It is used to treat various types of bacterial infections.

Unfortunately, the FDA does warn that such issues can be normal side effects, my doctor told me not to take it, again, because sometime such reactions can get worse with repeated exposure. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash.
