Skipped Lo Loestrin Placebo Pills No Bleeding
UpdatedI didn’t want to bleed this summer so skipped the 4 placebo pills and started the next month and didn’t bleed for 4 weeks. I just finished the 4 placebos and no blood. I’m worried it’s pushing off the blood. I’m starting the blue pill tonight. Can the body even bleed once the blue pill is in the system? Would appreciate someone’s experience. Thanks

Hello Momo5,
I hope you are having a good day.
I'll start by explaining how this medication works. This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: norethindrone (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen). It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle.
Because this medication changes the hormones in your body and you skipped the placebos it is possible that your body simply hasn't regulated itself yet to where you are going to have a menstrual cycle. The manufacturer states that most women have a lighter flow or a shorter cycle during the time that they are administering this medication. If you miss more than one cycle or you are still concerned that something may be awry with your body I would suggest making an appointment with your doctor.
I hope this helps ease your mind a little.
