Sinus Problems And Coughing Due To Blood Pressure Medications (Top voted first)

Cannot tolerate ACE inhibitors (24 hrs of coughing) nor calcium channel blockers (little help; leg swelling). On Benicar HCT and have persistent sinus problems and coughing that do not respond to allergy or sinus medications. Doc insists that the benicar is not the reason! Anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?

Yes, these medications have been known to cause sinus issues, as reported by the FDA, which may include drainage, stuffiness, and congestion. I've experienced it myself, taking Candesartan, and Losartan, and it is very annoying. It gets so bad that I sometimes gag and vomit.

Many blood pressure and heart medications are known to cause such side effects.

How are you all doing, now? Has there been any change?

I have the same problem, am on
Norvacs...a nurse friend told me it was probably the bp meds but I can find nothing to substantiate that. Help!!!
