Side Effects Of Using Epilex Chrono 300mg Torleva 500mg

hi im 26 and i have epilepsy from past 8 years and doctor suggest me to take epilex chrono 300mg torleva 500mg.Is there any side effects using tis pills.why doctor suggest me to take continuosly 2 years.If i skip in the middle he ask me to take extra 1 year.why like that can u pls explain me briefly.
