Side Effects Of Med.

My doctor has advised chymonac tabs. Alongwith D-Gain & Gemcal -DS for degenerative changes in LS spine. I have constipation problem after taking these med. Pl. Advise is it side effect of these med? I am 70 year old.

Based on my research, 'constipation' is in fact listed as a side effect of Gemcal-DS (calcitriol). If however, its become too bothersome or severe, I would strongly recommend contacting your doctor as soon as possible to find a more appropriate solution.

Have you considered supplementing with any laxatives or digestive enzymes to help breakdown food blockages in the intestines? Just adding a bit more fiber to your diet may even help relieve much of the constipation. Fruits such as, bananas, dates, rasins, apples, apple juice and apple cider are also natural laxatives for many people.
