Could I start before my cylce or is it better to wait till the first day ??

There is no hard and fast rule, but what you need to know is that if you start it on the first or second day of your period, then you will be immediately protected against pregnancy.

However, if you start it at any day later in your cycle, you'll need to take it for a full 7 days, before it becomes effective, so you will have to use some other form of contraception, until the 8th day of taking them.
