Severe Headaches

My 17 year old daughter is using Minerva and Purbac for acne our house doctor prescribed both, she has been experiencing severe intense headaches, and as well as nausea, she went to another docotor yesterday i dont think he even ask her what meds she is currently taking he however told her that i should take her for a brain scan? its so drastic he also prescribed Sandox and Loxiflam, she has been using Minerva and Purbac for 5 months isint their a chance that the headaches could be due to taking these meds?

Hello, Elaine! How is your daughter doing?

Yes, the headaches could be due to either one of those medications, or perhaps the combination of both.

The hormones in the Minerva can cause headaches as a side effect and the Purbac can cause them in some people, as well. I'd say you should definitely look into one of them being the culprit.

There are other antibiotics she can use for acne, so switching off of the Purbac may be the first thing to try.
