Hello, Melissa! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.

Well, you can't really shop for a new doctor according to what they will prescribe for you. If you call a doctor and ask them about prescribing such a medication, upfront, most won't even let you get in the door, because they are taught to view that as being drug seeking behavior.

Additionally, 80 tablets is not a normally prescribed quantity. 2 a day would be 60 and 3 a day would be 90.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

The best thing to do would be to get yourself set up with a new doctor, make sure they receive a full copy of your most recent medical records and then discuss your treatment options at your appointment. Once they can see what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, as documented by a fellow physician, they will be more prone to prescribe accordingly.

Since this is now a schedule 2 drug, you'll also need to see a pain management specialist to have it prescribed, a general practice physician won't be able to prescribe it for you.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
