Rx Pain Relief Meds

I am going to have surgery to repair a fractured humerus and percocet does nothing to help with the pain. What meds can I get my dr. to prescribe?

The first choice in many hospitals now for better pain relief is Dilaudid, which contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone.

It's very potent, it only takes 3.75mgs of it to equal each 10mgs of Oxycodone, which is the active narcotic in the Percocet.

Just like other narcotics, there is a chance that it could be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation.

Has your doctor made any other suggestions?

i think opoid drugs like tramadol and opoid related drugs can help you but addiction resuls if u take more than its dosage and duration

I agree i have been using hydromorphone and i like it alot better than percs for quick relief for my rsd and methadone for longer acting med those two have been working for my rsd for the last two year the hydro comes in different strengths i am taking the 4 i think there is a 8 too but it would probably be too stong. good luck Alan
