I was on Adderall XR 30 mg, 3X/day for a long time until all the generics came out with the ineffective fillers and they became ineffective. My doctor then switched me to Ritalin 20 mg, 3X/day. They did help to perk me up. I'm on a heavy dose of morphine thru an infusion pump for chronic pain for almost 10 years. I called the office to tell them about the side effects I was having: INTENSE sweating, ANGER, mood changes. I was told to reduce the script to 1/2 pill in the am and 1/2 in the pm. This was a little too low so I take 1 tablet in the am and 1/2 in the pm. So far, this seems to be working well and the sweating has decreased almost 98%, anger is gone. I think I'll stay here since its working. Has anyone else had issues with Ritalin?

Those can be normal side effects of Ritalin, especially if your dosage was a bit too high, they also might have been aggravated if you stopped the Adderall abruptly to switch to Ritalin, so some of it might have been some minor withdrawal effects. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and insomnia.

With the Morphine, I am not surprised you need something to help give a boost, since it is well known to cause drowsiness, and depression. When I took it, years ago, I could hardly ever stay away.

Is anyone taking Ritalin that can chime in with their experience?
